Fall 2011 Beauty Essentials

6 Oct

With the new season here and the weather changing there are some beauty essentials we all should have at hand:

  • A good moisturizer, for face and body. The harsh weather change from summer to fall can dry out skin so keep yourself well moisturized.
  • Frizz control gel/cream, especially if your hair is curly or prone to get out of control during the rainy season.
  • Lip balm, a great brand is Lip Smacker. It not only conditions your lips but also adds a slightly tint to your natural lip color.

Makeup artist Heather C. Adessa gives us her tips, below, on Fall 2011 beauty colors and products to help get your makeup bag ready this season:

  • Bold lipstick colors – cranberry, deep reds, and deep plum tones are all the rage. Think Rachel Zoe style, keeping the rest of your makeup subtle while making your lips bold with color.

  • When it comes to fall weather and your foundation some people’s skin may need a heavier foundation or even a heavier moisturizer to help hydrate the skin. The colder weather is very dry and can cause skin to flake/itch if not hydrated properly.

  • For eyeshadow colors this season try metallic golds and browns, as that’s where it’s at right now! Try MAC’s Woodwinked and Bronze to create a great new smokey eye. Both color tones look great on their own or together.
