Halloween Makeup: Lady Gaga

30 Sep

With October starting this weekend – yes already! Halloween is upon us so start thinking about your costumes and more importantly the makeup that will complete the look.

Heather C. Adessa, freelance makeup artist and licensed cosmetologist, will explain in a special Halloween series on Good Girls Cook and Wear Makeup how to easily achieve various Halloween makeup looks.

  • Look forward to specials on Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, cat eyes, special effects makeup, and how to apply false eyelashes.

Today Heather explains how to create a classic Lady Gaga “face” –

Lady Gaga

  1. You want to have your face makeup (moisturizer, foundation, powder, etc) all done before trying to recreate this lightening design.
  2. To bring out your inner Lady Gaga, use a cream eye shadow or eyeliner, and gel eyeliner to create this look.
  3. Sephora’s waterproof jumbo liner in Turquoise and Marine should be used for the basic lightening. With the Turquoise, create the lighting bolt and shade a little with the Marine pencil. Then take a gel black eyeliner, such as MAC’s Fluidline (its waterproof and gives a great definition to the eye. It is also super creamy, so using it with a brush creates a great line, even with a unsteady hand). Use an angled brush to outline and finish off the lightening. The jumbo pencils can also be used to create the liner around the eyes as well.
  4. Finish off look with a great pair of false lashes! Try MAC lashes, they have a large selection of funky, fun lashes! $15 each, and if applied correctly, can be reused.
